In June, Star & Garter hosted the social gathering prior to the unveiling of the blue plaque, which commemorates J R Ackerley. He was a resident of 17 Star & Garter Mansions for 26 years from 1941 until his death in 1967. His novel My Dog Tulip is a comic memoir and was called ‘one of the greatest masterpieces of animal literature’ by Christopher Isherwood. The book has been made into a feature lengths animation film currently in post production.

A new project launched under the umbrella of the Thames Festival. This year the festival is focused on September: London's ‘River Month', encouraging everyone to try something new on the river and enjoy all the wonderful things that the Thames has to offer.
